Energy Market Design
The research area Energy Market Design with its research team consisting of economists, mathematicians and lawyers deals with economic and regulatory framework conditions for the transformation of the energy system. The focus is on the steering effect of market design for regulated grid expansion and private-sector investments in electricity and gas markets. In addition, different framework conditions at the distribution network level are examined, which make business models of regional stakeholders usable. Methodologically, a combination of theoretical, quantitative, empirical and experimental approaches is applied, with a focus on the field of calculable market equilibrium models.
