Optimization of Photovoltaics Systems
Optimization of photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems in buildings
The "passive houses", which are allowed to consume up to 15 kWh/m2 of energy per year, also require heating energy in winter. With an suitably sized photovoltaic system (PV), combined with a battery to optimize the own consumption, the annual energy balance of the building can be equalized or even positively designed. An intelligent battery control system, which also takes vertical control variables from higher grid levels into account, can at the same time protect the power distribution grid. This concept was successfully used and tested in the HerzoBase project in 8 terraced houses.
